COWORKING SPACE
Wizu Workspace contacted RE-VIVE in the planning stage of their third coworking
space. This was to be their flagship coworking space and the location was the beautiful
Grade I listed building above Leeds Kirkgate Market. Their vision was a multi-functional
space that would function as workspace during the day and an events space at night,
but they were struggling to see how they could make this dream a reality.
We took this space from a building site through to completion, delivering a
transformable space with a bespoke desk storage divider system. All the table
legs are easily removable and the table tops simply hook onto the brass bars to
create panelled dividers and an open plan event space. Upholstered stacking chairs
are easy to store, whilst not compromising on coworkers comfort or aesthetics.
Wizu's brief for the look and feel of the space was "sophisticated,
with a wink" so we paired bold and fun colours with brass details and
wood finishes. We used tactile materials, rugs and armchairs to create
cosy breakout areas, perfect for a coffee break or informal chat.
A kitchenette with grey cabinets was already installed in the space so
we designed a statement island to make this a real social and communal
area, which creates a hub in the building for both coworkers and studio
occupants to meet and interact over breakfast or coffee. We used white
metro tiles to give continuity with Wizu's previous sites and the area
doubles up as a serving area and bar at events, with an upmarket feel.
